Walter Thomas-Patterson is thirteen years old and resides in O'Fallon, Illinois. He studies piano with Mary Anderson, composition with Amy Jo Sawyer, and oboe with Dr. Gustafson-Hinds. In 2013, he won the Illinois State Music Teachers Association's Southern District Competition at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. In April 2015, he placed second in both the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Young Pianist Competition and in the 7th and 8th Grade Division of the St. Louis Young Artists Competition. In August of 2015, he won a silver medal in the teen composer division of the 2015 Carol Klose/Hal Leonard Composition Competition.
Joseph Lu attends Lafayette High School as a Sophomore. He has been studying piano with Ms. Zena for 11 years. In 2012 and in elementary school, Joseph was a First Place Winner several times at the Missouri Music Teacher Associations State Competition in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2014, he received Honorable Mention at the Missouri Teachers National Association State Competition. In 2013 and 2014, Joseph has won Silver Medal in the St. Louis Area Music Teachers Association’s Young Artist Competition. When
Joseph grows up, he would like to become a doctor so he can help
people in need.
Division III winner, Gold Medal winner Egret Jin is fourteen years old and in the 9th grade at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. She has studied piano with Laura Schindler since June of 2013 when she relocated to St. Louis from Richland, Washington. Her awards are as follows: She was a Winner in the Yakima Symphony Concerto Competition and was given the opportunity to perform as Soloist with the Yakima Symphony; she was "Runner-Up" in the MMTA State Honors Competition for 7th grade Piano Solo; and she received "Honorable Mention" in the Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra "Stars of Tomorrow Competition", performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No.17 in G Major. Most recently, Egret was the 2015 Gold Medal Winner in Division 1 of the prestigious SLAMTA Young Artist Competition. Egret is the daughter of Xiaojuan Lao and Hongjun Jin of Olivette.
Division II Gold Medal winner Tong Zhao is fifteen years old and in the 10th grade at Clayton High School. He studies piano with Laura Schindler of St. Louis. Awards in 2015, First Place Overall Prize Winner in the Morning Etude Competition; Grand Prize Winner in the University Symphony Concerto Competition, receiving a cash award of $500 and performing as soloist with U-City Symphony; First Place Gold Medal Winner in Division 2 of the prestigious SLAMTA Young Artists Piano Competition. On October 24, Tong will perform the Grieg a minor piano concerto with the Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra as a "Star of Tomorrow Winner". Tong is the son of Guojun Zhao and Hui Li of Clayton.

Southwestern Illinois College Concert Choir
Dr. Andrew Jensen, Conductor
A native of central Illinois, Dr. Andrew Jensen began teaching at Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) in the fall of 2011. As Director of Choral Activities, he conducts the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers in addition to teaching Music Appreciation, Private Applied Voice, and Music Literature. He served in a similar capacity from 2008-2011 at Arkansas Northeastern College.
